Latin America Shows the Power of Diageo's Moat; Wide Moat Rating Intact But Shares Fairly Priced
Diageo's head of its Latin American and Caribbean, or LAC, segment, Alberto Gavazzi, held a call with analysts and presented a bullish outlook for the region. Investors will likely take comfort from the reassurances that in a volatile region, trends in the second half of the fiscal year remain robust. In our view, the recent success of Diageo's strategies to drive growth demonstrate the strength of its moat in developing markets, and despite the secular challenges enveloping consumer staples man...Diageo is a premium drinks business based in the United Kingdom. Co. is engaged in producing and distributing spirits, beer and wine. Co.'s operations include producing, distilling, brewing, bottling, packaging, distributing, developing and marketing of a range of brands. The brands that it produces and distributes include Smirnoff vodka, Johnnie Walker scotch whisky, Baileys Original Irish Cream liqueur, Captain Morgan rum, J&B scotch whisky, Tanqueray gin and Guinness stout. In addition, Co. also has the distribution rights for the Jose Cuervo tequila brands in North America and other countries.
