Enel Wins Bidding War to Acquire Electropaulo; Shares Undervalued After Recent Sell-Off
We reiterate our fair value estimate of EUR 5.79 per Enel share and our no-moat, stable trend ratings after the group won its battle against Iberdrola to acquire Brazilian electricity distribution company Electropaulo, having raised its offer from BRL 32 to BRL 45.22 per share. The multiple is a bit rich, but we calculate that the deal should be slightly accretive on the bottom line.
