Goldcorp Enters Partnership With Barrick Gold on Chilean Projects; No Immediate Impact on Fair Value
In a multi-step transaction, Goldcorp entered into a 50-50 partnership with Barrick Gold on a handful of development projects in Chile. The transaction is fairly complicated and, pending incremental detail of the potential developments, we assume no impact on our fair value estimates for each company. As a result, we are maintaining our USD 16 and CAD 21 per share fair value estimates for Barrick, USD 20 and CAD 26 per share fair value estimates for Goldcorp, and USD 4.50 and CAD 5.90 per share ...Goldcorp is a gold producer engaged in the operation, exploration, development and acquisition of precious metal properties in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central and South America. Co.'s metal properties consist of gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc.
