Goldcorp Set for Production Growth and Cost Improvement, Albeit a Few Years Down the Road

Although production fell as expected for Goldcorp in 2016, the remaining gold ounces were mined more profitably. Full-year gold production declined to 2.9 million ounces compared with 3.5 million ounces in 2015. However, all-in sustaining costs (AISC) fell from $894 per ounce to $856 per ounce. Both figures reflected transitions at some of Goldcorp’s older mines, while newest mines Cerro Negro and Eleonore continue to ramp up.
