Goldman’s 1Q Results Validate Much of Its Strategy That Has Been Under Fire
Narrow-moat Goldman Sachs’ strong performance in the first quarter validates its trading prowess and some newer growth initiatives that many have been viewed with skepticism over the last several quarters. The company reported net income of $2.7 billion, or $6.95 per diluted share, on $10 billion of net revenue. The main drivers of the $2 billion, or 25% increase in revenue, were trading and the company’s investing and lending segment.
