Group 1's Second Quarter Again Held Back by Lack of Oil Jobs in Houston

Group 1’s second-quarter profits suffered from a rapid and unexpected slowdown in the company’s largest market of Houston, but we do not see enough in the results yet to lower our fair value estimate. If weakness in Texas, which made up 36% of new vehicle unit volume in the first half of 2017, worsens, then we may lower our fair value estimate after a future earnings release. Adjusted EPS of $1.87 missed consensus of $2.00 and fell 13% year over year while same store revenue fell 3.2%.
