Kone's early foothold in China should serve it well over time.
Kone's third-quarter results were broadly in line with expectations, and the firm's guidance is unchanged. Similar to its competitor Schindler, Kone was unable to fully offset the rise in raw material costs with price increases. Group EBIT margin was down 110 basis points year over year. Like Schindler, the company reported improving orders in China, albeit not at robust levels. Group revenue grew by 4.4% on an organic basis, while the order book grew at a slower 2.1% pace.
