Magna Reports Record 1Q Results, 2018 Guidance Raised; Maintaining $57/CAD 72 FVE
No-moat Magna, automotive supplier of body, chassis, exterior, powertrain, and seating systems, reported record first quarter earnings per share before special items of $1.84, blowing past the sell-side $1.70 consensus EPS estimate by $0.14 and $0.31 higher than the same period last year. Revenue surged 21% to $10.8 billion from $8.9 billion reported for the first quarter of 2017. Even excluding 7 percentage points of currency translation, organic revenue would have increased by very healthy 14%...Magna is a global automotive supplier whose product capabilities include producing body, chassis, exterior, seating, powertrain, electronic, vision, closure and roof systems and modules, as well as vehicle engineering and contract manufacturing.
