National Bank of Canada Reports Steady Adjusted Results; Maintaining Our Fair Value Estimate

Narrow-moat-rated National Bank of Canada’s fiscal fourth-quarter results do not alter our long-term view of the firm. We are maintaining our CAD 58 fair value estimate. 
Full-year adjusted net income declined 4% in 2016, and return on equity fell to 15.5% from 17.6% in 2015. Using adjusted results, the primary difference in 2016 was elevated provisioning levels.
