Refinancings Improve NiSource's 2017 Earnings Outlook

We are reaffirming our $23 per share fair value estimate and our narrow moat and stable moat trend ratings after NiSource reported 2017 second-quarter earnings modestly higher than last year and raised and narrowed its 2017 earnings guidance. Earnings guidance for 2017 was increased to a range of $1.17-$1.20 per share from the upper half of its previous guidance range of $1.12-$1.18 per share.
