Owens-Illinois Maintains Momentum in the Third Quarter; Announces Constellation JV Expansion
Owens-Illinois' strength in Europe and Latin America more than offset continued weakness in North America during the third quarter. Adjusted earnings per share climbed 13% from the prior year to $0.77 thanks to a weaker dollar, stronger pricing, cost reductions, and steady volumes. The company also announced a 25% expansion to its Constellation JV in Mexico, which has been a helpful offset to weaker volumes in the U.S. as beer consumption continues to slide, especially for high-volume producers....Owens-Illinois is a manufacturer of glass containers.
