Polaris Relinquishes Any Possibility of Brand Redemption in 2016; Slashing Outlook
Wide-moat Polaris continues to suffer from its litany of recalls this year, now having an even greater impact on key sales in the off-road category. We have long contended that the strength of the moat could be weakening in this category as peers have launched more competitive products. But the inability to grow sales in light of product concerns or to move forward with the distribution of model year 2017 products until these concerns are resolved has led Polaris to forgo positive product sales ...Polaris designs, engineers and manufactures powersports vehicles which include, off-road vehicles, including all-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles for recreational and utility use, snowmobiles, motorcycles, global adjacent markets vehicles, including commercial, government and defense vehicles, and boats. The company's products, together with related Parts, Garments and Accessories, as well as aftermarket accessories and apparel, are sold through dealers, distributors and retail stores principally located in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and Mexico.
