Premier Investments experiences a tough domestic market, with international expansion a focal point.
Premier Investments reported first-half fiscal 2017 profit of AUD 71.9 million, up only 0.6% on the previous corresponding period. However, the result was measured over a shorter 26-week trading period, versus 27 weeks in the first half of fiscal 2016. Adjusting for this, underlying profit before tax was up 10.6% to AUD 90.9 million. Group sales were up 2.1% on a like-for-like basis, a respectable result in the highly competitive retail market.
