Realty Income's defensive tenant base offers investors safer retail exposure amid industry headwinds

Nothing in either Realty Income’s fourth-quarter or full-year results alters our long-term view of the firm. Adjusted funds from operations, or AFFO, per share rose by 6.3% to $3.06 for full-year 2017. For 2017, rental revenue was strong, rising 10.2% from 2016 levels and slightly ahead of our expectations.
