Shaw Is Igniting Broadband Growth With Biggest Internet Customer Gain in Years and X1 TV Launch
Shaw had a busy first quarter of fiscal 2017, and the results are by and large encouraging. Shaw posted its largest quarterly net gain of cable Internet customers (17,000) in three years. This may be an early sign of success for Shaw’s pricing strategy, which is supported by its cost advantage against telco rival Telus. Shaw also launched its BlueSky TV product in Calgary, which is based on Comcast’s X1 set-top box platform.
