Shaw Posts In-Line Results on Cable Internet and Wireless Gains; Shares Fairly Valued
Shaw Communications posted fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year results that are largely in line with our expectations. We were pleased that Shaw added 10,000 net Internet access customers, the biggest quarterly gain in nearly two years. Even after factoring in the reinstatement of wildfire-related involuntary disconnects, this is still a solid improvement over 1,800 net loss in the same quarter last year, largely due to Shaw’s high-end offering that was launched in July at an attractive introduc...Shaw Communications is a communications and media company. Co. has four operating segments: consumer, which provides cable telecommunications and satellite video services to residential customers; business network services, which provides data networking, cable telecommunications, satellite video and fleet tracking services to businesses and public sector entities; business infrastructure services, which provides data centre colocation, cloud technology and managed Information Technology solutions to businesses; and media, which provides programming content.
