Shaw’s Wireless Gains Are Impressive, but Seasonal Factors and Wireline Struggles Keep FVE Unchanged
Shaw Communications’ 12% year-over-year revenue growth in its fiscal 2018 second quarter was solely attributable to its wireless business, which took another step up in its bid to be a formidable wireless service provider in Canada. Total revenue of CAD 1.4 billion was 7% higher than consensus estimates; EBITDA of CAD 501 million was in-line.
