No-moat Suncor Energy reported production of 736.4 thousand barrels of oil per day, or mbbl/d, during the fourth quarter. Production came in below our expectations, driven by a slower-than-expected ramp-up of Fort Hills. The Fort Hills expansion project produced its first oil in January of this year and is on track to ramp up to 194 mbbl/d by early 2019.
