Higher costs relative to peers continue to add uncertainty to SunPower's future.
SunPower reported first-quarter results that included a 12% decrease in GAAP revenue versus the year-ago period and a drop in EBITDA to $6.3 million, down from $58.8 million last year. The company provided an update to its power plant business and still expects three major projects to become operational in the second half of 2016, including the 100-megawatt NV Energy project, the 102-megawatt Henrietta power plant, and the 68-megawatt project at Stanford University.
