Tableau’s Transition to Recurring Revenue Gets a Reality Check in 3Q; Stock Remains Overvalued
Tableau delivered third-quarter results and a fourth-quarter outlook that came up short of our expectations as the company’s transition to a recurring revenue model continues to push forward. While there were some bright spots in the quarter, we received some potentially concerning commentary from management regarding lengthening sales cycles, and the company’s quarterly billings came up short of our estimate despite greater ratable mix in the quarter.
