TPG Announces Plans to Enter Australian Mobile Arena; Putting Telstra FVE Under Review
We put our fair value estimate for Telstra under review.This follows the unveiling of TPG Telecom’s intention to become the fourth mobile network operator in Australia, after winning 2x10MHz of spectrum in the recent 700MHz spectrum auction for AUD 1.26 billion. It is a decision that will have a significant impact on the domestic mobile market, one that is already mature and aggressively competes among Telstra (48% share), Optus (33%) and Vodafone (19%).
