Telus holds up well in a competitive wireless market but faces increasing competition in wireline.
In our view, the most interesting takeaway from narrow-moat Telus’ first-quarter results is that the Canadian wireless pie is indeed growing larger, and each of the four biggest carriers--Rogers, BCE, Telus, and Shaw--is taking advantage of it. Telus is the last of the four carriers to report earnings in the past month, and like the others, it produced a nice gain in postpaid wireless net additions, up 9% year over year to 48,000. Overall, Telus posted year-over-year revenue growth of 6% and adj...TELUS is a telecommunications company providing a range of communications products and services, including wireless and wireline voice and data. Data services include: internet protocol; television; hosting, managed information technology, security and cloud-based services; healthcare solutions; and business process outsourcing. As of Dec 31 2017, Co. had approximately 13.1 million subscriber connections, including 8.9 million wireless subscribers, 1.7 million high-speed Internet subscribers, 1.3 million residential network access lines, and 1.1 million TELUS TV® customers.
