No Fun for Village Roadshow in Fiscal 2016, but We Look to Recovery Ahead

Village Roadshow had a poor fiscal 2016, buffeted by a 33.6% slump in film distribution EBIT (to AUD 21.0 million) and a disappointing 1.5% decline in theme park EBIT (to AUD 38.2 million). An abnormal drag of AUD 35.2 million (restructuring, impairment, equity-accounted losses) depressed the reported net profit after tax, or NPAT, down 64.3% to AUD 15.7 million.
However, the normalised NPAT of AUD 50.9 million (up 1.6%) was exactly as we had anticipated (final DPS was AUD 0.14, fully franked). ...
