Current share prices already reflect expectations for strong recovery in U.S. construction markets.

Wet weather and slower-than-expected project starts had an adverse impact on Vulcan Materials’ second-quarter results but didn’t stop the company from realizing 21% adjusted EBITDA growth over the prior year quarter. Although shipments grew by just 3%, Vulcan was able to increase its average selling price by 7%. In addition, incremental gross profit per ton (excluding freight) grew to 80% amid better volumes and cost cutting efforts, compared to 72% a year ago.
