Waste Connections Benefits From Integration Progress and Robust Solid Waste Environment in 2Q
We’re reiterating our $55 per share fair value estimate for narrow moat Waste Connections following strong second quarter earnings that benefited from a generally robust environment in North American solid waste. Revenue rose over 61% year over year to $1.18 billion in the quarter, as increases in price, volume, and recycling, net of foreign exchange, contributed 6%. Acquisitions, primarily consisting of Progressive Waste and Groot Industries, made up the remainder. Through its R360 Environmental Solutions subsidiary, Co. is also a provider of non-hazardous exploration and production (E&P), waste treatment, recovery and disposal services in several of the natural resource producing areas in the U.S. Co. also provides intermodal services for the rail haul movement of cargo and solid waste containers in the Pacific Northwest through a network of intermodal facilities.
