Alstom : New chapter starting, after the capital increase
>€ 2.4bn in inorganic measures to bolster the balance sheet – should be enough in our view - As expected, Alstom yesterday detailed how the € 2bn of inorganic measures would be structured: i/ € 700m of cash from disposals (TMH and conventional signalling), ii/ a € 1bn capital increase, with preferential subscription rights. CDPQ and BPI, which hold 17.4% and 7.5% of the capital respectively, will take part in the operation, and iii/ the issue of hybrid debt for € 750m...Alstom serves the power generation and transmission markets, and rail transport market. Co.'s activities are divided into four sectors: the Thermal Power Sector (Co. offers power generation solutions using gas or coal to services including plant modernization, maintenance and operational support); the Renewable Power sector offers EPC solutions, turbines and generators, control equipment and maintenance for Hydropower and Wind power activities; the Grid Sector designs and manufactures equipment and turnkey solutions to manage power grids and transmit electricity from the power plant to the large end-user; and the Transport Sector provides rail transport products, systems and services.
