Banca Monte dei Paschi has recently succeeded in raising € 2.5bn of capital on the equity market. This is the seventh call on the market since 2007, the year the bank took over Antonveneta. - The Italian state injected a further € 1.6bn of capital and € 900m was contributed by institutional and private investors.
