Danone : Morocco: still challenging
>Centrale Danone expects € 45m loss for 2018 - End-November, Danone’s Moroccan subsidiary, Centrale Danone, announced that the losses for FY 2018 will likely be in the region of MAD 500m, i.e. close to € 45m, compared to a net profit of MAD 115m (€ 10m) over FY 2017. Sales will likely be down -27.7% to MAD 4.7bn (€ 423m). This communication follows on from the boycott launched on 20 April in Morocco against the excessively high daily product prices of Centrale Da...Danone is engaged in activities in the global food and beverages industry. Co. operates in four markets: Fresh Dairy Products (Co. produces and sells yogurts, fermented dairy products and other fresh dairy products); Waters (Co. produces and sells natural waters as well as flavored and vitamin-enriched waters products); Early Life Nutrition (Co. produces baby formula, milk-and fruit-based desserts, cereals, small pots of baby food and ready-made baby food); and Medical Nutrition (Co. develops adult and pediatric clinical nutrition products to be taken orally, or through a catheter in the event of malnutrition related to illness or other causes).
