France – Economy/health, an impossible trade-off

Should the economy be sacrificed on the altar of public health, or vice versa? Can we tolerate higher health risk without disrupting demand? These are the questions that governments are being forced to answer, with only incomplete, changing and sometimes contradictory information at their disposal. In France, we are playing it by ear. It appears that the priority is now to limit restrictions to activity, as far as possible, even if this means sacrifices at the local/sector level....
