French economy: 2021 was a very good year
A fifth wave, the Omicron variant, the year 2021 is drawing to a close with increased uncertainty. It is a public health problem, no longer an economic problem, as it was to an extreme degree in 2020, and to a modest degree in the first half of 2021. The annual real GDP growth figures (close to 7% in 2021, more than 4% forecast for 2022) include a catch-up effect that can clearly not be extended ad infinitum.
