Is the ECB still accommodative?
In July, the ECB pre-announced that it would hike its policy rate by 25bp, which turned out to be 50bp. In September, the rate hike was 75bp but Ms Lagarde said at the time that this magnitude of monetary tightening “was not the norm". This week, a further 75bp hike will be announced.
