Less pressure on the US housing sector
In 2018, the real estate sector was squeezed on both sides by the US policy mix. On one hand, the tax reform increased the weight of taxes on property by eliminating certain deductions. On the other hand, the Fed’s rate hikes increased the cost of credit. The logical result was that activity in the residential sector slowed.
