Qiagen : Strong Q3 due to coronavirus-related demand, FY guidance raised
>10% y-o-y sales growth excl. forex vs 3% estimated - The company reported strong Q3 with $ 535m in sales (+10% y-o-y excl. forex; +11% y-o-y reported), 6% above our forecast and 7% above consensus (Vara). While non-COVID-related sales showed the expected strength (a touch weaker even with $ 376m in sales vs $ 385m estimated; still +18% y-o-y), the main surprise factor were Covid-related product sales. They came in at $ 159m in Q3, basically in-line with Q2 ($160) and...Qiagen is provider of Sample to Insight solutions to transform biological materials into valuable molecular insights. Co.'s sample technologies process DNA, RNA and proteins from blood, tissue and other materials. Assay technologies make these biomolecules visible and ready for analysis.
