Solvay : Key holder of JV-partner sanctioned; RusVinyl equals ~4% of group EBIT
>Key Sibur holder on sanction list; Sibur is Solvay’s Rusvinyl JV-partner - On February 28, the EU has released a sanction list containing 26 individuals close to President Putin, including Gennady Timchenko. The latter person owns 17% of Sibur (Russia’s largest chemical player), which is Solvay’s JV-partner in Russia for the production of PVC (Solvay owns 50% in JV RusVinyl with Sibur owning the remaining 50%). Over the past few days, various companies including BP, ...Solvay is engaged in chemical and plastic businesses worldwide. Co. offers chemical products such as advanced materials, barium strontium, calcium chloride, caustic soda, chlorinated products, fluor, peroxygen products, polyglycerols, precipitated calcium carbonate, soda ash, and sodium bicarbonate. It also provides specialty polymers, such as Spire ultra polymers, Solviva biomaterials, and sulfone polymers.
