At European level, the omnibus package will be discussed at the same time as the Clean Industrial Deal on 26 February 2025, according to the European Commission's indicative timetable. The Council and Parliament have agreed on the EUDR and withdrawn the EPP amendments. The UN negotiations in Busan on a global treaty on plastics ended without agreement. Equinor and Shell are to combine their UK offshore oil and gas assets in a 50/50 joint venture. The NGO Générations Future warned of TFA pollution near a BASF plant near Rouen in France, while traces of TFA have been found in several European mineral waters, including Vittel. On the social front, Airbus has announced a reduction of 2,043 jobs in its Defence & Space division by mid-2026. In Germany, as expected, strikes have begun at several VW plants, while site closures are being considered by management. In business ethics, allegations of non-compliance concerning the CEO of Hugo Boss were raised. In corporate governance, Stellantis saw its CEO resign. The group has set up a transitional executive committee.
