Sustainability Weekly 10-14 November 2025

Last week, we published three flash notes: one on the parliamentary vote on the "Omnibus" legislative package aimed at revising the CSRD and CS3D; a brief first take on the 2025 edition of the IEA's World Energy Outlook (WEO) (with a post-view published this morning); and feedback from the Expert Access we organized on regenerative agriculture with the teams from LVMH and Genesis. A group of investors published a note outlining its plan to develop responsible investment principles for defense. We provide an update on COP30, and the key developments investors should take away from the first week. The EU Council supports a further one-year extension of the EUDR regulation, while MEPs are considering using an emergency procedure to simplify it. TotalEnergies will supply renewable energy to Google's data centers for 15 years. The ISSB will introduce nature-related reporting requirements, with an initial proposal due in 2026. The European Parliament swiftly adopted the EU's new 2040 climate target, with a version almost identical to that of the Council the previous week. On the social front, Nexperia chips have resumed distribution in Europe. In governance news, Rio Tinto has suspended its lithium mining project in Serbia. The Saadé family has become the new majority shareholder of Carrefour, while Peninsula has withdrawn from the market.
