Last week, we published our ESG assessment of the defence sector: Leonardo and Airbus are our two ESG Best-in-Class. In environmental matters, the City of Paris chose not to renew ENGIE's contract to manage the city's urban heating network. The European Parliament voted to postpone and simplify the EUDR regulation. The European Commission presented a new bioeconomy strategy to boost growth, competitiveness, and resilience in Europe. On the social front, Stellantis committed to the long-term industrial future of its Poissy plant in France, ruling out any site closures or forced layoffs. In business ethics, SAP is being sued by an American software company for breach of trade secrets. Italian civil society organizations have filed a lawsuit against Leonardo and the Italian government, demanding the cancellation of any arms sales or supply contracts with Israel. In governance, European companies are gradually reducing their transparency gap regarding AI, according to a report by FTI Consulting.
