Sustainability Weekly 6-10 October 2025

Last week, we published a flash note summarizing the key findings of the OECD's Corporate Governance Factbook 2025 that investors need to know. The European Parliament reached an agreement on the Omnibus package; 46 CEOs of European companies sent a letter to Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron calling for the abolition of the CSDDD. Leonardo, Georgia Meloni and the Paris Air Show are reportedly facing legal action for complicity in genocide in Palestine. Economic risks related to water are equivalent to 7-9% of global GDP, according to OECD estimates. The IEA, meanwhile, estimates that global renewable energy capacity is set to more than double by 2030, while Ember notes that renewable energy production surpassed coal for the first time in H1 2025. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association's calls to relax EU CO2 regulations would halve electric vehicle sales by 2035, according to T&E estimates. The German government has approved €3bn in incentives for electric vehicles but has yet to make a decision on the EU 2035 ICE ban. In October 2025, the International Transition Plan Network (ITPN) published an interactive map listing global transition plan requirements worldwide. Nestlé has left the Alliance for Methane Reduction in the Dairy Sector. On the social side, Orsted is expected to announce plans to reduce its workforce by 8,000 people, or around 20%. In governance, Sodexo has announced the appointment of Thierry Delaporte as CEO of the group.
