Thales : Q3 preview – Improved productivity and robust underlying demand
>Return to normal productivity levels - Apart from civil aerospace and a number of the group’s transport activities, productivity returned to usual levels in Q3, which has helped to catch up some of the lag. We forecast sales of € 3,826m over the quarter, with close to 60% of the organic decline of 8.7% was due to the collapse in demand in civil aerospace. In detail (cf. table on page 2), we estimate growth of around 1% in the defence and security segment to € 1...Thales is an electronics and systems group, serving defense, aeronautics, transport, space and security markets. Co.'s operations can be divided into four operating segments: Aerospace (Avionics, Space), Transportation (Ground Transport Systems), Defence & Security (Secure Communications & Information Systems Land and Air Systems, Defence Mission Systems), and DCNS. Co. designs and delivers systems for all four environments: air, land, sea and space. These systems detect and assess threats, manage information, support command decisions and control engagements through to threat neutralization. Co. is active in ground transportation; air transport; navigation systems.
