The “unknowns” of 2025

Benjamin Franklin, the great American scientist and statesman, is credited with having said “in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes”. Everything else is thus shrouded in uncertainty. Inevitably, the year 2025 will hold its share of surprises. There are so many "unknowns" in terms of the global economy, politics, monetary and fiscal decisions, international relations, ongoing conflicts, etc. Each of these areas depends, to varying degrees, on a "mega-unknown" named Donald Trump. His MAGA strategy is well known and poses a threat to the global economy, but as we have seen in the past, Trump is also capable of unexpected compromises if he sees an advantage in them.
