Trump: break things first, think later

The concept of “rage rooms” emerged in Japan in the early 2000s. Found today across the world, these rooms are places where one is free to demolish everything to beat off stress and purify the spirit. The ancient Greeks called this catharsis. Donald Trump views the world as his personal “rage room”. He breaks everything: international relations, world trade, the rule of law and the central bank’s independence. But his rage has run into a few barriers in recent days, forcing him to show some signs of backing down. He will not fire Jerome Powell as Fed Chair and he may reach a trade deal with China. Despise this start of de-escalation, the uncertainty shock is far from over.
