What opportunities do the markets offer three trading days after Donald Trump’s tariff announcements?
After two days of sell-offs, the US markets halted their fall on Monday 7 April, stabilising all markets. We continue to recommend protecting your portfolio by overweighting staples (personal care, food) and certain defensive sectors (telecoms). The sell-off in financials, both banks and insurance companies, is excessive, in our view. Oil companies are regaining their appeal.
