Investment Companies Roundup - July 2018

Leaf Clean Energy won a court case (click here to read more) and the settlement proceeds have been used to compulsorily redeem 55% of its issued share capital. Crystal Amber holds a large stake in Leaf and benefited as a result. Since mid-May, when it warned about losses from hurricanes and other natural disasters, the share price of CATCo Reinsurance Opportunities has risen, aided by its investment manager’s CEO buying shares. Better Capital PCC 2012 announced a share buyback. The share price and NAV of Woodford Patient both rose in June on the back of the Autolus IPO. Phaunos received a cash offer from Stanford Capital. Dunedin Smaller Companies will be absorbed by Standard Life UK Smaller Companies. EF Realisation’s NAV is driven largely by the value of its shale oil investment. Marwyn is benefiting from bid speculation surrounding BCA marketplace.
