Automotive Sales in January

•According to Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) data, auto market contracted by 13% y/y to 38,131 units in January 2022. (January 2021: 43,728) While the passenger cars sales were 29,020 units (down by 18% y/y), LCV sales increased to 9,111 units (up by 9% y/y).

•TOASO’s sales increased by 33% y/y to 7,033 units. TOASO’s PC sales were up by 22% y/y, and its LCV sales increased by 56% y/y. TOASO’s market share contracted to 18.4% in January compared to 18.9% in December.

•FROTO’s sales were up by 3% y/y to 4,350 units. FROTO’s PC sales decreased by 45% y/y, and its LCV sales were up by 28% y/y. FROTO’s market share contracted to 11.4% in January compared to 12.5% in December.

•DOAS’s sales contracted by 57% y/y to 3,589 units. DOAS’s PC and LCV sales were down by 59% and 34% y/y, respectively. DOAS’s market share decreased to 9.4% in January compared to 17.2% in December.

Co., which is a member of Koc Holding A.fi. and Fiat Group, also produces various automotive spare parts used in its automobiles. Co. manufacturing facilities are located in Bursa. Co. also is engaged in the production of Doblo modellight commercial vehicles in Turkey for Fiat.
