X5 Company News - EBITDA and net income margins expectedly down yoy
Today, X5 released its 1Q 20 IFRS results, which were slightly better than our expectations on EBITDA and net income. Nevertheless, as EBITDA and net profit margins notably contracted yoy, we consider the results neutral. We would rather focus on todays conference call to get a better understanding of how the restrictions that were put in place in the end of March and abnormally high demand in the same month have affected the companys results in April. We do not rule out that X5 may update its guidance.X5 Retail Group is a holding company. The main activity of Co. is the development and operation of grocery retail stores. Co. operates a retail chain of soft-discount, supermarket and hypermarket stores under the brand names "Pyaterochka", "Perekrestok" and "Karusel" in major population centres in Russia, including but not limited to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Samara, Lipetsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Ekaterinburg and Kiev, Ukraine.
