U.S. Housing Remained Strong Amid Rising Mortgage Rates

​Existing home sales rose 3.3% to 5.69 million in January from 5.51 million in December (these sales were stronger than expected). Median total home resale prices were 7.1% above year-ago levels in January, which compares to December’s 4.5% year-over-year gain. The months’ supply of total existing homes for sale was unchanged at 3.6 months, which equals the record low for this series.
