The market reacted with gains to the ECB
At the meeting held by the ECB last Thursday ahead of the Easter holidays, the bank kept its plans of ending the stimulus programme in the 3Q, stressing the uncertainties surrounding the war in Ukraine. As for the possibility of raising rates, C. Lagarde insisted there is no calendar with the dates they will start to raise rates, adding that this could take weeks or even months after the end of the stimulus. The Ibex was the index that saw the best reaction to the meeting and the highest gains during the week, ending near 8,700 points. Thus, almost all sectors in the Euro STOXX ended the week with gains, led by Energy and Travel&Leisure vs. the worse performance of Household and Technology.
