La FDA (Agencia de Seguridad y Salud de EE.UU.) tras realizar una inspección en una planta de PHIA (como parte del proceso de investigación vinculada al caso de los Respiradores) ha solicitado información adicional en relación al uso de elementos de silicona en algunos respiradores, que en su proceso de degradación podría dar lugar a la aparición de elementos volátiles perjudiciales para la salud.
