The three airlines’ 3Q23 results were broadly in line with our expectations, having achieved a turnaround in their headline net profit due to the strong seasonality. We expect the Chinese airlines to continue to recover in the rest of 2023 and 2024, though we caution that investors should not extrapolate the seasonally strong 3Q23 performance into the more muted 4Q.
