The MNB has announced a further extension of the market-based lending scheme (MLS) to support lending growth to SMEs in the 5-10% yoy range. The decision was announced outside of the usual rate-setting meeting, consistent with what the MNB has been doing in recent years. We view this announcement as primarily the implementation of a structural policy decision (to create the conditions for a more vibrant SME sector), rather than a signal that the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) is becoming more dovish.
